This trust is due to the quality products we offer and the knowledge that we can confidently stand behind them with an award winning global support team of data integration experts that are dedicated to our customers’ success. To strengthen our team in ASEAN, we are now looking for an experienced Partner Technical Manager to be based in Malaysia who will work together with our direct sales teams to provide pre-sales support to existing and prospective clients.

Reporting to the Pre-Sales Manager, ASEAN, you are ideally someone with a strong background in data management technologies.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a technically adept, collaborative sales engineering professional to join our team. You’ll work with other members of the pre-sales team to address the technical needs of potential customers and close new business deals from sales leads. In this role, you’ll serve as a counselor and advisor to customers and a technical coach to coworkers, providing advice and guidance throughout the sales cycle. Since the pre-sales team is responsible for capitalizing on new business leads and opportunities, members of the pre-sales team are instrumental to Informatica’s future growth in the region. This new role will be based in Kuala Lumpur.

Whether it’s an initial product evaluation, competitive proof point, or addressing technical pain points, you’re willing to take the time to provide deep explanations and find solutions where needed. As an influential and effective sales consultant, you are eager to share your knowledge and best practices and to develop and sustain an open line of communication with your supervisor and teammates. If your team members or customers are in remote locations, you are comfortable with frequent travel in order to engage face-to-face. In addition, you have the following attributes

  • An ability to rapidly understand and translate clients’ business challenges and concerns into a solution oriented discussion.
  • Persuasive communication skills for presenting to all customer levels, from CTOs/CIOs, to engineering managers and programmers.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and strategic thinking for troubleshooting database and application problems.

Your Responsibilities

You will serve as the master of the technical agenda with responsibility for analyzing, explaining and selling the technical aspects of the solution to customers. You’ll work closely with the sales account manager to qualify leads to ensure new business opportunities come to fruition and generate revenue for the company. You will proactively engage with customers and prospects to demonstrate our products and effectively communicate the key differentiators. To set the stage for successful implementations you’ll assists customers with initial product evaluations and share relevant customer success stories. Connecting the dots between the technical requirements of a project and the business requirements is elemental to the success of this position. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and present solutions for Enterprise Data Integration, Data Quality, Metadata Management & Business Glossary and other Informatica products
  • Respond to customer requests for Information and requests for proposals(RFI/RFP)
  • Deliver standard and custom product demonstrations to prospects and customers
  • Prepare and deliver Proof of Concepts and manage technical validation activities during Proof of Concepts
  • Provide support and technical leadership to the partner community
  • Collaborate with product management, professional services and R&D on technical issues

Your Qualifications

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in product applications, ability to understand and explain related technologies, working knowledge of company products, all potential applications and effective communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years in pre-sales OR enterprise software implementation experience at a software vendor.
  • Excellent presentation abilities and composure in front of all levels of technical and business customers or prospects.
  • Excellent experience of managing proof of concepts on customer premises.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following technologies: Enterprise Data Integration, Data Warehousing, Data Quality, Metadata Manager and Business Glossary, Master Data Management preferred
  • Excellent hands-on skills with databases like Oracle, DB2, SQL Server and Data Warehouse appliances
  • Willingness to travel overseas based on training or operational requirements.
