Position Title: Manager, Presales

External Description:

The Manager, Presales serves as the master of the technical agenda with responsibility for analyzing, explaining and selling the technical aspects of the solution to customers. This role is responsible for managing pre-sales technical staff and support activities for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Analyze, explain, and sell the technical aspects of the solution to customers 
  • Promptly respond to customer questions with deep, detailed technical explanations of product features and capabilities 
  • Serve as a technical leader to your colleagues in sales, professional services, product management and engineering 
  • Prepare and deliver differentiated solution presentations or technical proposals 
  • Deliver differentiated solution demonstrations to prospective customers 
  • Manage technical validation activities, including proof of concepts 
  • Consistent regular attendance at work 
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities  

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS  

  • Ability to understand and translate clients’ business challenges and concerns into a solution oriented discussion 
  • Expert in field, with persuasive communication skills for presenting to all customer levels, from CTOs/CIOs, to engineering managers and programmers 
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and strategic thinking for troubleshooting database and application problems 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and explain related technologies, working knowledge of company products, all potential applications  
  • Excellent presentation abilities and distinguished composure in front of all levels of technical and business customers and prospects
  • Holds self and team accountable for timely documentation within CRM / Marketing software of customer contact and activity data (e.g. names, titles, contact information, opportunity value, product information, sales stages, probability, business pain, firm-future commitments, etc.).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS  

  • BS Degree or equivalent  
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in pre-sales or enterprise software implementation  
  • Experience in Data Integration, Data Warehousing, Data Quality, Business Intelligence, and RBDMS 
  • Expert knowledge of pre-sales while serving as a leader
