Key Responsibilities

You will participate in the testing effort of enterprise software. You will test and critique software components and interfaces in great technical depth, write test programs to assure high product quality, and automate them using available framework.

This requires a deep understanding of the product as well as the use case of the customer. This role is ideal for a person who is passionate not only about the solution but also the quality of the solution that is provided. This is a role with high visibility and requires the engineer to be a self-starter as well having excellent technical and analytical skills.

  • Design and develop test plans, test cases based upon functional and design specifications
  • Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities
  • Design, develop and maintain test programs including test tools and automated test suites
  • Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve any issues
  • Participate in product functional reviews, test specifications, documentation review.
  • Communicate effectively with developers and QA peers and other stakeholders in the QA organization.
  • Execute planned testing tasks and provide timely and accurate analysis of findings
  • Utilize analytical skills in determining the root cause of problems
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task and re-prioritize responsibilities based on changing requirements (such as urgent customer problems). Deliverable reviews have few actions.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Able to communicate or present to the whole product team and occasionally across products.  Interacts with and influences other groups on same product and cross product groups.

 

Required Skills

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Must be highly motivated with a strong passion for and commitment to software quality
  • Good understanding of both windows and Unix environments.
  • Good trouble shooting skills, excellent Object Oriented design and programming.
  • Interest and even coursework in Quality Assurance is a major plus here: Creating test plans, designs and executing of tests.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Excellent Java programming skills
  • Experience with Java UI technologies such as Eclipse RCP and/or Swing and/or SWT
  • Experience with Javascript, JQuery, JSP, AJAX, JSON, SOAP, REST
  • Experience with Browser DOM and DHTML and CSS
  • Experience with TestNG or other Java unit testing tools.
  • Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data structures and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the full product lifecycle, preferably Agile.
  • Experience of XML, Web Services, Databases.
  • Experience / knowledge in Perl/shell scripting.

 

Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge on any cloud product/framework is a plus.
  • Working knowledge on Big Data is a plus.
  • Understanding of component-based development.
  • Performance testing background.
  • Knowledge of Security testing.
  • Understanding of agile methodology.
  • Understanding of Informatica products
