Position Title: Senior Director, Business Development

External Description:

As a critical member of the Informatica North America Regional Marketing team, the Senior Director of Business Development, will be integral to the successful performance of Informatica’s Marketing objectives and execution. The primary charter is to enhance performance of the Business Development organization, and drive opportunities and Sales pipeline.

TheSenior Director of Business Developmentreports directly to the Vice-President, North American Regional Marketing. Internally, this position will work closely with the appropriate Executive, Marketing, Sales, Partner, Digital and Brand Marketing teams, as well as, Inside Sales and Cloud First Response Team teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct oversight of the managers responsible for managing the Business Development Managers (BDM), this includes mentoring and coaching.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction of the Business Development organization. This includes prioritizing and allocating resources to ensure performance is optimized.
  • In depth knowledge of the organization’s products/services.
  • Leads the relationship with the Field Marketing and Field Sales leaders to ensure the BDM team provides adequate support in the field.
  • Responsible for market development, which includes identifying potential markets, key market influencers and setting up offers for the select market and application segments, setting targets, and ensuring that Sales Pipeline is generated.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the business plan to develop data management offerings, systems, and solutions to support multiple industry segments.
  • Direct responsibility for pipeline quality and growth
  • Oversee the go-to-market programs, and their application to the Business Development organization
  • Develop programs to improve business pipeline, partner engagement and closing rates.
  • Have a growth strategy that is focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and engage in business meetings with prospects and decision makers.
  • Decision maker for hiring, developing, engaging and retaining the Business Development team.
  • Execute outreach strategies across multiple teams to maximize revenue potential from existing and prospective customers.
  • Holds management team accountable for timely documentation within CRM / Marketing software of customer contact and activity data (e.g. names, titles, contact information, opportunity value, product information, sales stages, probability, business pain, firm-future commitments, etc.).
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Expert leadership skills required in collaboration and prioritization to direct and influence operations and results in the sales region or team(s).
  • Leadership ability to develop strategic initiatives in the functional area, as well as influencing key stakeholders of the organization.
  • Expert-level industry knowledge and understanding of a customer's decision-making process, goals, strategies, and business objectives.
  • Skilled at C-level audience presentations, strong financial acumen and negotiation skills, and executive presence.
  • Ability to develop and influence a positive, professional, and motivating team culture.
  • Expert functional knowledge in the sale of hybrid software solutions, Data Warehousing, Database, Big Data, and/or Business Intelligence software concepts and products.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong Business Development experience is required.
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams of sales, marketing, and service professionals in complex technology integration projects.
  • BA/BS or equivalent educational background is preferred.
