Your Opportunity

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will participate in the testing effort of enterprise software. You will test and critique software components and interfaces in great technical depth, write test automation frameworks, programs to assure high product quality, and develop advanced test tools using Java to increase productivity and efficiency. You will play a key role in on-time product delivery with high quality and drive customer success through R&D level support and related engagements.

This position is suited for highly motivated, innovative and energetic individuals with a desire to work on the latest technology stack. You will work on a broad spectrum of technologies including the latest and emerging technologies in the big data space.

Your Responsibilities

As part of the Informatica core Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible to:

• Design and develop test plans, test cases based on functional and design specifications.
• Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities.
• Design, develop and maintain test programs including test tools and automated test suites.
• Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve any issues.
• Participate in product functional reviews, test specifications, documentation review.
• Communicate effectively with developers and QA peers and other stakeholders in the QA organization.
• Execute planned testing tasks and provide timely and accurate analysis of findings.
• Setup testing environments independently and troubleshoot if any environmental issues.
• Utilize analytical skills in determining the root cause of problems.
• Produce work estimates as requested, refine estimate skills over time to ensure accurate forecasting for software product delivery dates.
• Utilize analytical skills in determining the root cause of problems and demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities based on changing requirements (such as urgent customer problems, etc.).
• Handling customers escalations that are routed to R&D from Global Customer Support team.
• Conducts cross-department talks/demos. Provides helps and answers to non R&D forums.
• Working in an agile software development team delivering high-quality products and certifying the PAM (product availability metrics) items.

Your Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 4 or more years of Enterprise Software Testing experience with a strong technical background in delivering high-quality products.
• Passion for test automation, and testing enterprise products using automation.
• Hands-on experience and expertise in automation using Selenium and Java is mandatory.
• Extensive experience in database concepts, SQL programing is mandatory and experience in at least one of the following databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase.
• Excellent experience in working in a Unix environment (shell scripts, build systems).
• Good working knowledge of Hadoop technologies like Hbase, Tital, Solr is a plus.
• Good working knowledge of Hadoop infrastructure like YARN, Ambari and distributions like Cloudera, HortonWorks, MapR is a plus.
• Exposure to Informatic PowerCenter and other Informatica products is a plus.
• Exposure to and experience with applications like Oracle, SAP, Tableau, Power BI, SalesForce, Microstrategy, Qlik View, etc. will be an added advantage.
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, debugging and analytical skills.
• Energetic and motivated self-starter.
• Ability to think creatively.
• Familiarity with Agile development process
