Informatica is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Intern to join our Redwood city, California team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of experienced, innovative and energetic team on a rapid, agile development schedule. The Intern will participate in the team cloud QA activities which primarily include implementation of product automation tests.

 

Job Summary

As an QA Intern, you will be responsible for quality of cloud products where you will test and critique software components and interfaces in great technical depth, write test automation frameworks, programs to assure high product quality, and develop advanced test tools using Java to increase productivity and efficiency.  You will play a key role in on-time product delivery with high quality and drive customer success. In the role of QA Inter you must be able to work and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced environment. Working as the QA Inter you must have strong technical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

.

 

Technology You’ll Use:

• Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), cloud log services (ELK, Sumo Logic, Splunk), cloud application monitoring tools (Elastic APM, AppDynamics, New Relic)
• Jenkins and Spinnaker CI/CD tools
• Perforce and Git version control systems
• Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Helm, Istio, Kiali, Service Mesh
• Telemetry tools which include Prometheus, ELK, Sumo Logic, Jaeger
• Web client technologies such as React and Java
• Unit testing, Integration, and end to end Karate, Cypress and Selenium

• You will part of scrum teams and contribute to quality of the products
• You will define and contribute to automation frameworks
• You will participate in product design, development, verification, troubleshooting, and delivery of a system or major subsystems

• Experience with multiple programming languages is a benefit but there is also room to improve your skills.
• Most entry-level engineers have a level of proficiency in: Java and/or Python
• Student in the field of Software Engineering/Computer Science/Engineering/Exact sciences from a leading university.
• Minimum 3 semesters left for graduation/graduated

 

 

Nice to Have

• Projects, experiences, or coursework related to areas such as: Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Multi-Threading, Data Structures & Algorithms, Software Quality and Automation, CI/CD Automation, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong Advantage – Proven experience in QA.
• Advantage - Proven coding capabilities.
• Advantage - Good knowledge of LINUX.
• Advantage - Familiar with Cloud providers and services: AWS, AZURE
