We’re currently looking for a Senior Performance Engineer with experience in software Testing of large-scale enterprise application and platform services to join our Informatic Cloud Team in Redwood City, CA

Job Summary

As a Senior Performance Engineer and as part of agile team member, you will be responsible for building the leading integration-Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) product to provide Data Integration, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Data Governance, and other Information Management solution as a service on the cloud. In the role of Senior Performance Engineer, you must be able to work and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced environment, and have strong technical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Your Opportunity 

We are looking for a Senior Performance Engineer with a proven record of performance automation, performance testing and engineering to deliver high performance, scalable and stable enterprise class software. In this role, you will be responsible for creating performance automation scripts, executing, monitoring and analyzing performance bottleneck of product. You will work in a fast-paced environment delivering product and feature increments in short iterations. Your technical skills will be very critical to deliver product functionalities across releases.

Your Responsibilities 

The performance engineer works closely with just about every team at Informatica to ensure our applications perform well under load and stable. That means writing and executing JMeter scripts for performance use cases, monitoring performance of application, servers and processes involved, conducting performance analysis, identifying performance bottleneck and working with the right people to resolve the issues. The performance engineer will identify and collect the necessary metrics to ensure the performance, stability and scalability of Informatica's products. The performance engineer will also have to ensure the client-side performance is up to par in a variety of supported browsers so they should have a good understanding of technologies like JavaScript, Ajax and be able to identify slow page elements.
 
The performance testing engineer will also get pulled into escalated production performance issues. That means they will need to be able to perform under pressure, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and present information clearly and concisely to upper management. 
 
Required Skills: 
Experience: 

  • Design and develop performance test plans, test cases based upon requirements and Customer use cases 
  • Create and execute JMeter scripts for performance use cases
  • Experience with performance monitoring tools and understanding performance metrics
    Experience in performance analysis at different layer such as Database tuning, JAVA Tuning and UI tuning
  • Conduct performance analysis and report findings to product teams and senior management. 
  • Deep understanding of JVM architecture, parameters and tuning. 
  • Understanding of RDBMS concepts and working experience in any RDBMS databases such as Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL. 
    Work closely with the development teams to analyze the performance issues, debug and resolve any issues 
  • Collaborate effectively with peer engineers and architects to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas to deliver end-to-end performance quality in our technology and customer experience 
    Understand business use cases, internal/external performance Benchmarks, debugging performance issues, designing automation framework, decision making on issues, technical assistance in performance analysis and tuning DB/OS etc. 
    Influences development managers to insure appropriate levels of Performance quality on owned technologies.  
  • A deep understanding of performance testing methodologies, like Performance Testing Guidelines for Web and JAVA Applications.
  • Good to have understanding of Hadoop technology, monitoring and performance analysis of Hadoop components such as HDFS, HBase, YARN, SPARK, Zookeeper and etc...
    Influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior product and business management . 

Your Qualifications 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical degree 
    4 to 6 years of experience in performance testing and engineering for high data volume management products
  • Minimum 2+ years working experience in creating and executing performance automation scripts using JMeter
