Meet Marjan Ghaffari, Procurement Manager - Events and Meetings
I’m currently working as a Procurement Manager on the Global Travel Team, where I get the chance to work directly on Informatica events and internal meetings across the globe.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to join Informatica.
Prior to my position at Informatica, I served as the Global Travel Manager at TIBCO for two years, where I managed travel sourcing and procurement, the global commercial card program and meetings management. I began my career as a consultant in financial and procurement analyses, working for over a decade within the technology industry, after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A in Economics.
In 2014, I was recruited by Informatica to centralize and globally manage the procurement of the company’s meetings and events. Since assuming the role, I have developed and designed a cost-neutral business model to serves as the basis for the global strategic meetings management program that I implemented in January 2017.
What do you enjoy most about working at Informatica?
My team members and my manager are some of the most caring people I have ever worked with. I value the trust I have built with my manager, Rick Wakida, tremendously. He is incredibly supportive, has a wealth of knowledge in the Finance and Travel industries, and I feel very lucky to be part of the team!
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you.
If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?
I have always loved Wonder Woman, and wanted to be her when I was a little girl! I would use my powers to end all the wars in the world, and make sure we have everlasting peace on Earth.
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join Informatica?
If you want to join a company with a culture that values you as a human being and not just an employee ID number, then I would highly recommend joining Informatica. Informatica is a place where you are surrounded by brilliant & caring people, and that in no way are pretentious.
