Meet Pam Gementera, Manager of Information Systems, Human Resources

I am currently working as a Manager of Information Systems in our Human Resource department, with a focus on Workday.  I manage an amazing team around the globe who work hard, and get the job done.  Our primary focus is Workday Operations, and the automation of HR Initiatives.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to join Informatica.

I fell into my role in HR systems, trying different things and focusing on what intrigued me.  Doing so eventually led me to a challenging career, that I fully enjoy.  A friend of mine was working for Informatica, saw the position open and thought I would be a perfect fit.  As soon as I had my first interview, I knew Informatica was a place that I wanted to work at.  Everything clicked into place, along with the vibe and feel of the team, and the company.

What do you enjoy most about working at Informatica?

What I enjoy most about working for Informatica is my team, the leaders, and our culture.  It’s a laid back, collaborative environment, and everyone is approachable.

Tell us three things most people don’t know about you.

  1. My family and I love anything Disney.
  2. I am one of the Hula teachers at our family’s Hawaiian Dance School.
  3. I was born with a reading list that I will never finish.

If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?

This is a tough one.  Since I can’t narrow it down to one specific superhero, here are the ones that I’d like to be:

  • Elastigirl - because she’s a mom of three and can still kick butt and save the world
  • Wonder Woman - because she truly believes in the good in people
  • Storm - because she can control the crazy weather
  • Jean Grey - because she can read minds and move things without touching them

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join Informatica?

Just be yourself, as it’s the easiest way to get noticed.  Be prepared to ask questions about the position, the team, and culture.  It’s important to love what you do, and even more than that, having a team to do it with.
