Position Title: Manager, Accounting

External Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Reporting and Technical Accounting, the Manager, Technical Accounting is responsible for providing accounting guidance for complex or unusual transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, impairment, investments, debt offerings, and others. Responsibilities include evaluating applicability of new accounting literature, preparing quarterly and ad-hoc technical accounting memos, and ensuring accounting activities are both regulatory and U.S. GAAP compliant.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research authoritative literature and provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, impairment, investments, restructuring, debt offerings, complex capitalization projects, and other signficant and non-routine business transactions
  • Evaluate applicability of new accounting literature to ensure accounting activities are both regulatory and U.S. GAAP compliant
  • Prepare/review timely, high quality technical accounting memos on all key technical accounting matters for submission to the management and external auditor
  • Manage and act as liaison in Company-wide initiatives and cross-functional projects that directly impact accounting area to ensure U.S. GAAP compliance (e.g. ASC 842 new lease guidance adoption).
  • Act as a resource to the global finance and accounting group to provide coaching and training on complying with Company's accounting policies
  • Assist in the external reporting processes including drafting quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes and MD&A disclosures, and any other ad hoc reporting assignments that are required.
  • Assist external audits including the resolution of open comments and findings related to technical accounting issues.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 4-6 years of related experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent Big 4 public accounting experiences with SEC and technology company focus 
  • CPA required
  • Exceptional communication skills, including an ability to listen to the needs of the business, research and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and simplified manner, and present findings and recommendations in both oral and written presentations
  • Strong leadership, organizational and problem resolution skills, ability to work with diverse groups
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work well under pressure
  • Proactive and creative approach, strong analytical skills and ability to create and maintain a balanced, positive work environment
  • Ability to lead, organize, and manage projects beginning to end that require coordinated efforts across multiple functions (e.g., Accounting, Revenue, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Operations)
