We’re currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in Java, PhP, HDFS, DBMS and cloud deployment to join our team in Redwood City office. 

Job Summary

As our Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical solutions and guidance for product issues coming from our customer and/or support teams.   In the role of Senior Software Engineer you must be able to work and adapt in a fluid, fast-paced environment with the key goal of resolving product issues at the earliest. In this role, you will be responsible for working with multiple internal teams (Support, Field, Product Management, Pre-Sales) and provide clarity on the product issues, proactively follow up to resolve these issues, provide architectural and sizing guidance where-ever applicable. Working as the Senior Software Engineer, you must have strong technical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Day-to-day Duties? Here's What You'll Be Doing

As an integral part of the Core Metadata team you will be responsible for the following –

Be very hands-on in understanding the low level working details of the product.

  • Collaborate effectively with multiple internal teams to get a sense of the issue and provide resolution to customer issues.
  • Working with customers during POC and helping in installation, configuration and debugging issues to successfully bring the product to a running state.
  • Debug and identify configuration/product issues and work with support, field and pre-sales.
  • Develop excellent understanding in breadth and depth of Informatica’ s products.
  • Be a proven performer and team player that enjoy challenging assignments in a high-energy and fast growing distributed workplace
  • Handle customer escalations that are routed to R&D from Global customer support (would require you to re-prioritize your tasks efficiently)

Key Essentials

  • BE/MS in Computer Science or related fields.
  • 4-6 years of experience in developing innovative enterprise products
  • Excellent coding and design skills in Java, PhP
  • Strong technical understanding and working knowledge of HDFS, Kerberos, SSL and Network storage.
  • Working and hands on knowledge on Hadoop distributions like Cloudera and Hortonworks configurations
  • Working experience and debugging knowledge on HBase, Solr and Spark.
  • Exposure and good understanding of cloud deployment AWS/Azure
  • Code for Emergency code fixes (EBF)

  • Strong understanding of DB concepts.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
