As a Lead UX designer, your designs would shape the next generation of Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services and accelerate our customers’ data-driven digital transformations.

We are seeking a talented, multi-dimensional, Lead UX Designer who excels at: applying state-of-the-art user-centered design (UCD) techniques; working with diverse internal and external stakeholders; and designing rich, scalable, elegant, and productivity-enhancing interactive software. This Lead UX Designer knows how to design easy-to-understand solutions for complex usage scenarios, and is skilled at delivering designs that help end users do their jobs efficiently and effectively.

Our Ideal Candidate

You are highly experienced at designing user-centered UX for enterprise applications. You have designed web-based, Cloud applications. You have also worked with other UX designers, researchers, and product team members to deliver best practices in user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design. You enjoy working with product managers to understand and define business requirements, but you are also comfortable discussing technical capabilities and constraints with software developers. Most importantly you relish interacting with customers, validating your designs / prototypes, and then improving them based on their feedback.

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at our spectacular Redwood City, CA campus and will be responsible for:

  • Planning and designing our next-generation Cloud solutions.
  • Delivering UX designs as part of cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Developers, UX Designers, and UX User Researchers) to create innovative user experiences for new and extended product offerings.
  • Helping plan and conduct stakeholder interviews.
  • Synthesizing results from user research into coherent designs.
  • Creating information architectures, task flows, user-interaction models, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, detailed designs, design briefs, design specs and guidelines with little direction.
  • Influencing product teams and the organization to achieve solutions that are right for our customers.
  • Fostering a fun, creative, collaborative team spirit.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years designing user interfaces and experiences for web-based software.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting user-centered design projects.
  • Proven ability to generate end-to-end designs - from concept through production detailing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and communicating UX design guidelines and design specifications.
  • Proven effectiveness working in cross-functional teams that include product management, engineering, marketing, and other UX professionals
  • Demonstrated proficiency with prototyping tools such as Fireworks, Illustrator, Axure, Photoshop, Balsamiq, Visio, etc.
  • Familiarity with user research methods, and how these are used to support the design process.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Masters’ degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Industrial Design, Engineering Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
