Our Team
The Datacenter Engineering team is part of Informatica’s IT Datacenter and Hosting organization and is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of global storage, backup, network, and server infrastructure, as well as physical and virtual datacenters. Our team is not only focused on maintaining highly reliable and performance-driven systems, but takes pride in its deployment of leading edge datacenter technologies. It is a forward-looking group consisting of highly talented team members who work together closely to develop solutions which maximize the efficiency of its customers and the competitive advantage of the company.
Your Opportunity
Informatica is looking for a bright, organized, and dedicated Lead Storage Systems Engineer with particular knowledge in the areas of Storage/Backup, and Datacenters to be based in the company’s Austin, TX location. The IT Datacenter and Hosting organization maintains many systems that enable access to critical business resources and enforces policies to operate and secure them. Storage Systems such as Hitachi SAN/NAS, NetApp, Commvault, Tape libraries working with OS’s such as Unix (AIX, HP-UX) & Linux (RHEL, Centos, Hadoop), Cisco UCS/Dell/HP x86 Servers, and VMware Vsphere that access storage are included in the responsibilities. The Lead Storage Systems Engineer will participate in 24x7 support when required.
Reporting to the IT Director, the successful candidate will be a key contributor in a lean and high impact IT organization of over 100 people who are aligned in several geographically dispersed centers supporting an employee base of over 3,500 people in 25 countries.. You will also be required to participate in our hybrid cloud efforts to automate server provisioning in public clouds.

The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the required academic criteria and experience in systems administration, convey his or her ability and willingness to work in a team, and demonstrate the ability to lead the storage team, communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in a professional and friendly manner and demonstrate the ability to lead and own his functional area.
Your Responsibilities
As an individual Lead contributor focusing on enabling employees to be even more successful at their jobs, your role will be to:
Lead global storage/backup team, practice, policies, design, and administration
Mentor storage/backup team
Maintain storage/backup technology road maps
Architect, drive changes and improvements for the storage/backup area
Evaluate and recommend new storage/backup products and technology to support business requirements
Manage vendor relationship and negotiations
Global Storage Infrastructure Support (Hitachi SAN/NAS - FC/ISCSI/CIFS/NFS)
Global Commvault infrastructure support
Manage FC SAN Infrastructure
Manage Storage and Host connectivity
Create Automation and self-service tools with respect to user shares, or frequently provisioned storage
SAN integration support for Windows/Linux systems to provide end to end high availability
Participate in a hybrid Cloud IA as project and work with technologies such as Amazon and Azure, , Train offshore GOC team in repetitive Level 1 & 2 tasks for storage and new technologies for 24x7 incident support
Handle storage hardware management and support assistance for all storage devices, Hitachi, EMC, Netapp, etc.
Do performance tuning, configuring and upgrading of storage system
Assist with system disaster recovery requirements
Demonstrate knowledge of networking in relation to the storage environment
Recommend leading edge approaches to automation, self-service, and efficiency of systems
Demonstrate experience with LDAP, ADFS, SAML 2.x, Kerberos as used with the storage system
Professional/Academic Experience:
10+ years of experience in Information Technology operations
10+ years of relevant professional experience in Storage systems, storage hardware, and storage administration
3+ years of demonstrated project management experience, including experience managing rollout of storage solutions across a multi-site, global, enterprise
Strong team leader capable of providing support across the IT organization to train and assist others
Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse team across global time zones (i.e., US, India, Europe) to effectively complete tasks and objectives
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet specific deadlines through the use of strong organizational skills.
Highly energetic, self-motivated, quick learner with the ability to work independently
BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
Professional certifications in Storage Technologies desirable
Willing to Travel domestically and internationally (5%)
