Position Title: Sr Director, Field Enablement

External Description:

Senior Director, Presales Enablement

As a Presales Enablement Leader for the Global Enablement, you will report to the Vice President of the Global Enablement Team. You develop strong relationships with the presales leaders around the world to understand their enablement needs across roles and the selling and technical skills needed to be successful. You manage a team and ensure the presales teams and our partner technical teams get the information they need, when they need it through the enablement portal and collect their feedback for improvements. You also collaborate with stakeholders from enablement, Global Business Services (GBS), IT, the field, marketing, product marketing, and other groups to support the WWFO business goals and drive field enablement. You lead, maintain and optimize the Presales enablement content development projects. You collaborate on enablement events involving Presales. You ensure these projects and events drive successful technical wins for the Presales team around the globe.

Specific Responsibilities

Management (20%)

  • Work with VP Of Global Enablement to ensure team is aligned with priorities
  • Provide coaching, guidance and motivation to the presales enablement team
  • Focus on career development and growth opportunities for the team
  • Eliminate obstacles for the team

Strategy & Planning (60%)

  • Work with Presales Leadership to create the presales enablement strategy,  plan and priorities
  • Work with Presales Leadership to determine key contributors, or Subject Matter Experts
  • Work with Presales Leadership to finalize the competency framework and certification levels, keeping it up to date and relevant
  • Create a high level plan for building out the competency framework and certification program, setting priorities for the team and deadlines for project completion
  • Work with team to ensure projects are on track and aligned with expectations
  • Measure and report on progress against goals, presales certification completion rates, survey feedback

Collect and share feedback from field and other stakeholders to make recommendations for improvement

Maintain Technical Skills (20%)

  • Although, not a subject matter expert, this role requires understanding the key messages of the various segments, industries, and products
  • Maintain a basic understanding the key technical features and functions, how they deliver business value, especially around key segment and vertical messages
  • This is done by collaborating with the Product Managers, and Product Marketing Managers responsible for the various business units

  • Setting a strategy, building a plan, and keeping the team aligned and collaborating
  • Managing and mentoring a high-performance team
  • Natural collaborator and able to build strong relationships with other enablement team members and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • A high degree of business acumen and experience in B2B software industry
  • Enjoys solving complex challenges, works on complex and diverse projects
  • High sense of urgency to overcome obstacles the team encounters
  • Understanding of the Presales role, and achieving technical wins
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong knowledge of apps: Microsoft Office 365, LearnCore, Salesforce, and various content authoring tools

Desired Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in developing and delivering enablement content or working in a presales function
  • Familiarity with enablement and learning programs a plus
  • BS/BA, or equivalent required
  • Researches industry trends in sales enablement and makes recommendations for best practices and new complementary technologies to explore
  • Passion for helping the field become more effective
