Your Opportunity: 

Located in our Redwood City, CA headquarters, you will play a pivotal role in our cloud transformation as a senior member of the Informatica CloudTrust team. You will be working with DevOps-oriented product development, infrastructure and business teams to build, automate and scale our global persistence layer – focusing on cloud database infrastructure technologies, both cloud-agnostic and cloud provider-specific. You will be the “go to” person for teams implementing new features, gleaning insights from or optimizing their performance across our global, multi-cloud products.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Implement, scale and troubleshoot a global, multi-cloud persistence layer for multiple cloud products.
  • Educate and keep product and operations teams informed on the best practice designs, proper implementations, high-performance optimizations, and self-service troubleshooting skills.
  • Create runbooks and “Infrastructure as Code” recipes to build scalable and resilient database layers for product and operations teams.
  • Accelerate the transformation from database-centric design patterns to immutable, highly-available cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor the security controls and performance metrics of the persistence layer, including resiliency checks and failure prediction.
  • Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation. 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of large scale DBA experience with MySQL or a derivative, including performance tuning, debugging, metrics measurement, security, resilient design and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with Master-Master and channel based replication including filter definitions and namespace conflict resolution.
  • Expert-level knowledge of DML optimization/benchmarking for OLAP and OLTP, tuning and debugging including the ability to read and explain the output of "show engine innodb status;” and working knowledge of admin tools such as monyog.
  • The ability to create and manage cloud resources using terraform, chef, consul,  python and json
  • Experience implementing and enforcing controls in compliant environments such as ISO27000, HIPAA SOX, and SOC II.
  • Strong analytical skills, mental resiliency and the ability to think systematically under stress.
  • Highly accountable and willing to take ownership. Outstanding work ethic, high-integrity, team player, and a lifelong learner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively across the organisation.
  • Comfortable working in an agile DevOps oriented capacity, alongside development partners.

 Nice to Have:

  • Experience in Document based DB admin such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
  • Administration experience of Oracle, Hadoop, redshift, redis, memcache.
