Your Opportunity

The position is suited for highly motivated and energetic individuals with a desire to work on Linux, Unix, and Hadoop administration, automation etc. 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager – Cloud Hosting and based in Bangalore, India, the successful candidate will be a key member of a lean and high impact IT organization of 100 people who are aligned in several geographically dispersed centers in over 25 countries that support an employee base of over 2,400 people.

You are talented professional capable of executing the specified role in automation projects while ensuring a stable and robust automation environment. You will assume an important role in analyzing, assisting with design and managing the automation infrastructure and working with the team to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The candidate will have a positive, “can do” attitude, have great communication skills, and be ready to jump in and make things happen. You will possess excellent skills in development, problem solving and debugging.

Your Responsibilities

  • Requirement gathering, design and develop scripts for automation preferably Bash, Shell, Ruby, Chef, or Python
  • Develop tools and automation to make platform operations more efficient, reliable and reproducible
  • Own and drive initiatives spanning multiple teams to automate operations
  • Be a strong contributor and leader towards deploying Cloud cost governance model
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, Business teams, QA and operations to accomplish objectives of consistent strategy for cost governance and automation across teams
  • Identify areas where cost/revenue is attached and seek improvements to improve revenues and saves cost
  • Should be self-driven, willing and able to take complete ownership of initiatives and make pragmatic technical decisions. Constantly looking for ways to improve and automate efforts.

Your Qualifications

  • 6 to 8 years of total experience (3 - 4 years of Programming experience)
  • Any Technical / Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Solid understanding of the UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems especially OS internals
    • Preferably worked as System Administrator for at least 4 years
  • At least 3-4 years of strong experience on procedural language such as Python, Shell, Bash, Ruby or Perl
    • Should have written scripts for automating day to day or monotonous tasks
  • Minimum 2 years working in Cloud environment
    • Solid background working with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, ELB, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, RDS, SQS, etc.,)
    • VMWare/Hyper-V
    • Strong experience around Rightsizing, Reserve Instances and other strategies to save cost
  • Preferred
    • At least 1-2 years of experience in building UI-based framework using .NET, PHP etc.,
    • At least 2 years of experience on Cloud automation deployment process using Orchestration management, such as Chef
    • Experience in requirement gathering, designing, developing and troubleshooting automation scripts/cookbooks
    • Experience creating automation using AWS SDKs in Python similar
    • Proficiency with the AWS CLI
  • Knowledge/experience with Networking technology: such as DNS, Load balancers, security groups and network separation.
  • Experience documenting technical requirements as well as creating Installation Qualifications outlining steps to deploy automation solution
  • Must have cloud and dev ops understanding
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills such as bottleneck tracking and remediation.
  • Ability to work under considerable pressure managing multiple tasks and priorities with a can-do attitude without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong interpersonal and team communications skills are essential.
  • Flexibility and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Passionate about solving business problems, Innovative, creative and an outside-the-box mindset.
  • Must possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a distributed team
