Position Summary

The Principal Events Manager is responsible for managing key corporate events from planning, through execution and post program elements. This role will help shape and define strategic planning for Informatica’s Annual User Conference, Partner Enablement Meetings, Sales Meeting, and Sales Incentive Program.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with Global Events Lead to produce Informatica’s Annual User Conference (3,500 attendees), internal Sales Meeting (1,800 attendees), external Partner Enablement Program (1,000 attendees over 3 locations), and Sales Incentive Program (400 attendees)
  • Focus on vendor optimization, ensuring that all key vendor partners are equipped to perform their jobs as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Spearhead RFP process between all key vendor partners, within programs and cross-programs
  • Collaborate with internal teams on event strategy and desired outcomes
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to support event elements including messaging, branding, event logistics, staffing, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding event strategy, program overview, timeline, requirements, pre/post event meetings
  • Negotiate with event vendors to ensure all objectives and budget requirements are within specified parameters
  • Plan and coordinate special promotions and activities that will add value to each event while staying within budget
  • Prepare forecast and manage the event budget
  • Work with participating groups to create maximum value from each event including: analysis and distribution of attendee lists, facilitating meetings and/or onsite meeting space at event; development and distribution of event surveys for attendees
  • Coordinate all event logistics
  • Develop post-event reports and analysis to determine effectiveness of each event as well as recommendations for similar events

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must be self-motivated, articulate, and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to participate on interdepartmental teams
  • Experience with brand management across regions a plus
  • Experience with content management across regions a plus
  • Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Ability to think, plan and execute resourcefully
  • Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail required
  • Excellent collaboration skills are essential
  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining close teamwork; assume quarterly team in person meetings
  • Strong attention to detail. Budget, organization and project management skills. Strong financial skills including ROI and event analysis.
  • Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing corporate events or equivalent
