Job Summary

The Information Security Engineering Manager leads a team of highly talented and diverse security engineers.  The manager is responsible for identifying, driving the build and integration of Open Source and off-the-shelf security technologies to create an effective and automated set of detection, prevention and resiliency capabilities. Together, these will provide our customers safe, secure, and compliant corporate services. You will provide the engineers with guidance and career development, ensuring that they have the right support to be successful in their programs.

Your team will provide employees a trustworthy environment to conduct business at Informatica and be accountable for building and maintaining our security posture. You and your team are ultimately responsible for earning and maintaining customers trust at Informatica and enabling the business to take smart risks.

The manager will have individual contributor responsibilities on complex programs and will need to participate closely with the SIRT Architect and Security Architect(s) as well as the VP, CISO and Sr. Director of Information Security to shape and implement the controls that protect our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Calibrate security control systems with the desired risk posture for our enterprise and our customers
• Automate security controls to reduce our attack surface, proactively seek out vulnerabilities, and decrease response and recovery times. Partner with DevOps and Operations teams to integrate the controls into our orchestration systems to ensure a consistent infrastructure state
• Optimize security tool deployments and introduce scalable processes across IT and InfoSec capabilities
• Contribute and collaborate with other Information Security team members across the broad spectrum of information security programs, such as Threat & Vulnerability Management, Security Response, Information Protection, Governance and Compliance.
• Oversee and guide the completion of security control deployments run by the Security Engineering team.
• Provide career development and mentoring for the security engineers that report to the ISEM and other InfoSec colleagues.
• Act as a member of the Information Security management team to shape the direction of the program and prioritize the work activities of the Information Security team.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities necessary to support and protect the business

Knowledge and Requirements

• Strong competency in articulating and persuading counterparts to adopt appropriate security control frameworks.
• Understands compliance structures and the impact on security. Can develop and defend risk based approaches to control implementation.
• Prior management experience, particularly in scenarios requiring management of technical employees with <3 years work experience
• Experience in conquering the challenge of making systems and processes easier to use yet more secure, embedding security into the fabric of the organization
• Ability to create scalable security solutions in a fast-paced production environment.
• Track record of collaborating with other technical teams to create solutions greater than the sum of its parts
• Proactively make data-driven decisions and manage complex initiatives from conception to deployment.
• Anticipate threats and address security incidents across production and corporate environments
• Stay up to date on the latest risks, countermeasures, and regulations that may affect Informatica
• IT Engineering / System implementation experience to include change management processes
• Comfort in synthesis and aggregation of multiple inputs into a single solution requirements set
• Technology savvy, with exceptional communications skills both written and verbal
• Logical thought mindset and experience developing reusable processes / data architectures
• Travel requirements: domestic and/or international travel up to 10%

Management and Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job is directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g. hiring/termination and /or pay decisions, performance management).
• Direct report job titles may include: Security Engineer, Senior Security Engineer

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering field; Master’s degree preferred 
• Strong experience in a combination of Information Security, Vulnerability Management, Security Response, IT Engineering, IT Architecture, Application Operations, or DevOps capacity; minimum 4 years of InfoSec experience.
• Strong experience with scripting, programming, regular expressions, and API-level integration of tools
• Practical experience with security @ scale across multiple cloud environments: AWS, Azure, and VMWare
• Prior exposure/experience with SIEM & vulnerability management capabilities
• Experience configuring and maintaining WAF rules, host-based firewalls, and log management 
• Experience with threat modeling and risk analysis
• Regulatory compliance experience in HIPAA, SOC2, ISO27k environment preferred
