A Senior Consultant with Hadoop and Big Data skills supports our Professional Services organization through enablement and leadership in targeted technology delivery. As a Big Data Specialist, you will gain valuable technical and consulting skills in the Informatica Big Data Management Platform and related Informatica products. You will deliver consulting assistance to critical customer projects providing deep technical skills and enterprise architecture advice regarding Big Data Management in a Hadoop environment. It is important that in this role that you possess technical aptitude, strength in written/verbal communications, ability to create and deliver technical education and strong client management skills to deliver successful projects in this highly visible and fast-moving market.

Job Responsibilities:

Big Data Management Senior Consultant is responsible for highly expert technical services, training and mentoring on Informatica Big Data Management, and Data Integration implementation, which may include:
• Execute billable project assignments in both strategic projects and customer escalations to ensure success rates for both customers and sales execution in the Big Data Management market
• Participate in knowledge management activities to encapsulate knowledge and provide a foundation for successful Big Data Management integration project execution
• Mentor less experienced staff to assist with technical and functional product related questions/issues and provide input for future training activities
• Provide special services (for example, performance-related configuration or other “proof-of-concept” work) for Informatica internal projects or for partners or for customers in billable or non-billable situations
• Maintain the deepest skill level in Informatica Professional Services on the Big Data Management platform
• Develop customer implementation Architectures consistent with best practices around the use of Informatica Big Data Management Platform

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree required
• Minimum 5+ years of consulting experience
• Experience with the Informatica Platform
• Strong experience with building data integration processes in Informatica PowerCenter, or similar technologies
• Strong Linux/Unix Skills
• Experience with Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR, IBM BI, EMR, or HDInsight
• Strong DBMS skills including SQL
• Administration skills in Hadoop or strong desire/aptitude to learn these skills
• Able to present and address complex architectures and development issues
• Ability to troubleshoot complex environments with multiple products used to achieve a solution
• Experience leveraging new technologies quickly for customer success
• Ability to execute in a quickly changing and dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel 50-75%
• Ability to travel freely within North America including Canada
• Possible international travel to support WorldWide customer engagements

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Azure or AWS
• Informatica B2B, Business Glossary and/or Data Quality
• Database appliance skills including Netezza, Greenplum, Teradata and Exadata
• Experience with other Data Integration or Metadata Management tools
