Your Opportunity

We are seeking a technically adept, experienced Presales Manager to lead our Pre Sales team across Italy. You will work with the Sales Team, the Channel Team, Professional Services, and Management to develop and execute Technical Sales supporting the sales strategy for the Region. You’ll work with other members of the pre-sales team to address the technical needs of prospects and customers and work with the Sales team to assist in the closing new business and making customers successful. In this role, you’ll serve as a counselor and advisor to customers and a coach to coworkers, providing advice and guidance throughout the sales cycle.

You are technically strong with experience in the Data Management software space and have the patience and passion to guide co-workers, customers and stakeholders through all the capabilities of our products and solutions. Whether its an initial product evaluation, competitive proof point, or addressing technical pain points, youre willing to take the time to provide deep explanations and find solutions where needed. You find a collaborative work environment rewarding yet are equally adept at and content working independently. As an influential and effective presales manager, you are eager to share your knowledge and best practices and to develop and sustain an open line of communication with your team. As your team and customers are in remote locations across the region, you are comfortable with travel in order to engage face-to-face meeting. In addition, you have the following attributes: 

  • An ability to rapidly understand and translate clients business challenges and concerns into a solution oriented discussion.
  • Persuasive communication skills for presenting to all customer levels, from CTOs/CIOs, to engineering managers and programmers.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and strategic thinking for resolving issues that arise in the presales environment. 
  • Previous experience in customer facing activities is essential. This role will involve direct contact with our biggest clients.
  • You're a people-person with credibility: confident and personable with a demonstrable track record of professional acumen and decision making ability.
  • You will thrive on juggling a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, complementing your strategic outlook with a 'hands on' approach.
  • Outstanding attention to detail along with excellent verbal and written communication skills that impress your peers.

Your Responsibilities

Youll serve as the master of the technical agenda with responsibility for analyzing, explaining and selling the technical aspects of the solution to customers. This will account for 60% of the role. Working with Sales Account Managers, youll manage the technical sales cycle to ensure new business opportunities come to fruition and generate revenue for the company. On a weekly basis, youll proactively engage with customers and prospects to demonstrate our products and effectively communicate the key differentiators. To set the stage for successful implementations youll assists customers with initial product evaluations and share relevant customer success stories. Connecting the dots between the technical requirements of a project and the business requirements is elemental to the success of this position. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Required Management Roles and Competencies for this job include the following (40%):

  • Working closely with our talented and experienced pre-sales team to deliver an effective and efficient team that is focused, enabled and confident on all aspects of the Informatica solution offering.
  • Working very closely and collaboratively with the Italian Sales Leader and his team to complete Strategic Planning and deployment of Presales personnel.
  • Effective and proven leadership, e.g. setting operational standards, Development Needs Planning, managing change.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to share information and drive improvements across the Business division.
  • Liaise with your peers within the EMEA & LA region and worldwide to discuss new product plans and the associated enablement plans & work closely with specialists and other functions to support local Presales activities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop commercial technical proposals and solution descriptions.
  • Strong Organizational Skills.

Your Qualifications

  • BSc degree or equivalent, experience in data management products and the ability to understand and explain related technologies.
  • A minimum of five years in Presales Management.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong experience in one or more of Data Management, Data Integration, Data Governance, or Business Intelligence sales, both on-premise and in the Cloud.
  • Knowledgeable in Business Intelligence, Messaging, and/or Operational systems such as Oracle Financials, SAP Financials, Siebel or procurement systems
  • Demonstrated skills in business-value selling tactics and techniques
  • Preference for experience with Informatica Products
