The Infrastructure team is part of Informatica’s IT Operations Infrastructure and Hosting organization and is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of global storage, backup, network, and server infrastructure, as well as physical and virtual datacenters. Your Opportunity

Informatica is looking for a bright, organized, and dedicated IT Operations Infrastructure Manager with particular knowledge in the areas of Networking, Storage/Backup, Compute and Datacenters to be based in the company’s Austin, TX location. The IT Infrastructure and Hosting organization maintains many systems that enable access to critical business resources and enforces policies to operate and secure them. Network infrastructure from Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, F5; Storage Systems such as Hitachi SAN/NAS, NetApp, Commvault backup, Tape libraries, Cisco UCS/Dell/HP x86 Servers are all components to be managed through this role..
Reporting to the IT Director, the successful candidate will manage a team of 8 highly technical individuals and be a key contributor in a lean and high impact IT organization of over 100 people who are aligned in several geographically dispersed centers supporting an employee base of over 3,500 people in 25 countries..

This role requires a highly driven, organized, and technically dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, who can effectively lead and motivate teams.  The ideal candidate will act as a mentor and advisor to the infrastructure team who has responsibilities for the design, development, implementation, and operations of infrastructure systems, applications, tools, policies, and procedures.  The ideal candidate will also work side by side with the technical team to ensure successful incident resolution or project delivery. .


Your Responsibilities 

As a hands-on manager focusing on enabling employees to be even more successful at their jobs, your role will be to:

• Drive delivery and support for mission critical enterprise network, storage, and compute infrastructure, as well as customer-facing and/or internal enterprise facing applications in support of that infrastructure

• Establish an excellent delivery process, enabling distributed resources to work as an effective, objective driven and collaborative global team
• Provide effective support to the enterprise infrastructure and related applications throughout the service life cycle ensuring high SLA responsiveness
• Identify, analyze, mitigate and proactively respond to project, business, financial and operational risks; both real and anticipated
• Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a work culture that recognizes and supports individual differences in work-styles, personalities, cultures and values, in order to maximize team performance and effectively achieve personal and team goals; provide coaching and mentoring as needed
• Create and manage a continuous improvement program that identifies and implements best practices, measuring performance and drive improvements in IT systems and processes

• Manage Incident, Change, and Problem processes, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)• Effectively partner with IT business managers to define solution strategies and annual roadmaps; setting direction in all areas of responsibility, monitoring ongoing effectiveness, and overseeing refresh, redesign, or redirection as appropriate

• Identify, define, and measure success of global IT delivery processes, management of production systems, and successes on roadmap execution
• Provide project management support for IT initiatives; ensuring quality and conformance to methods, policies and standards
• Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, new vendor selection processes, renewal solutions, maintenance, and support
• Manage a global network infrastructure including best of breed technologies from Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Silver Peak, F5
• Manage enterprise backup/storage systems (NetApp, Hitachi, EMC, Commvault)
• Manage datacenter compute infrastructure consisting of Cisco UCS, HP and Dell servers
• Work hand in hand with IT Hosting Manager to optimize delivery of Infrastructure and Hosting Platform services Azure, , • Review and maintain annual SOX documentation for areas of responsibility

Professional/Academic Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology operations
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in Networking, Storage, and/or Compute administration
• 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience, including experience managing rollout of storage solutions across a multi-site, global, enterprise
• 3+ years building and managing technical teams of 5+ individuals

• Preferred experience with cloud based services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse team across global time zones (i.e., US, India, Europe) to effectively complete tasks and objectives
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and changing priorities
• Strong problem solving skills and an innovative approach to addressing administration, personnel, and technical problems
• BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• Professional certifications in relevant technologies desirable
• Willing to Travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)
