Your Responsibilities

This key individual will serve as Product Specialist for both internal and external customers. This position will also work closely with internal development and support staff to solve technical product problems and provide third line support. Primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting complex technical problems and working with the customer and ILM Engineering team to resolve technical roadblocks. Will also facilitate, drive and support the customers' implementation process, working closely with our customers' implementation teams and Informatica technical support. He/she will ensure all issues are resolved or escalated to the proper resources to resolve in a timely fashion. Additionally, this individual will manage communications to customers at all levels to maintain positive relationships.

  • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage customer support technical issues daily, including verifying issues, isolating and diagnosing the problem, and resolving the issue where possible.
  • Work closely with the ILM Support Engineers across support centers.
  • Provide technical support to partners, sales engineers and post-sales consultants via telephone, email and the web.
  • Reproduce product behaviors to determine the problem root-cause(s), issue work-arounds and solutions.
  • Will be responsible for developing /architecting tools and facilitating tools to debug and capture more information for quicker resolution
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to provide assistance in identifying, reporting and resolving product defects and Supportability issues. He will drive the effort to have critical supportability features incorporated in the product.
  • Author, edit, publish and maintain an on-line knowledge base of known issues/solutions.
  • Provide regular reports for management that measure the effectiveness of the technical support function

 

Your Qualifications

 

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field,
  • 5-8+ years of industry experience in supporting mission critical software component
  • Prior experience in troubleshooting problems to the source code level in Java ,c/C++ is required
  • Sound knowledge of database internals and ability of debug /capture logs (from) database driver is preferred
  • Experience in Oracle, MSSQL Server and/or DB2
  • Excellent grasp of relational database management theory and practice.
  • Prior experience with Eclipse IDE or any similar IDE is mandatory.
  • Hands-on with Debuggers like dbx, gdb, Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
  • Good exposure to building source code on UNIX/Windows platforms is required.
  • Excellent grasp of relational database management theory and practice.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Integration and Business Intelligence tools is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills are essential.
  • A high degree of analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Constructively work together as a team, sharing ideas and resources.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in Windows and UNIX flavors of operating system
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and respond to peaks in demand.
