Position Title: Software Engineer IT Applications

External Description:

Informatica is looking for a talented, dynamic and motivated Senior Data Quality Analyst who will leverage their knowledge and experiences of “all things data” to work with business users to develop world-class solutions based on their data quality and governance needs. As a member of the Data Quality & Governance team you will play a significant role in helping Informatica be the global leader in enterprise data management. The position is based in Bangalore, India reporting to the senior manager of Data Quality and Governance. Responsibilities include the following.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Validating data quality and accuracy as part of building trust in Informatica’s data
  • Managing business expectations as it relates to scope, cost, schedule and quality
  • Working collaboratively to gather requirements related to data quality and data governance
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders when creating or modifying requirements documents
  • Creating detailed design and training documents to enable users and raise awareness
  • Providing feedback to designers & architects on whether data models are fit for purpose
  • Understanding and translating business needs into logical well integrated data models
  • Using Informatica's DQ tools to design and implement solutions based on business needs
  • Managing and maintaining best in class MDM and RDM data managements platforms
  • Providing direction and support to business partners in support of DQ & governance goals
  • Performing unit and integration testing and ensuring test results are fully documented
  • Performing code review and making necessary recommendations for improvements
  • Guiding other team members in designing optimal solutions and resolving any code issues
  • Ensuring all data changes are comprehensively tested and quality assured before release
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to define processes, create policies and enhance systems
  • Collaborating with all stakeholders to enhance the accuracy of master and reference data
  • Partnering and collaborating with operational teams to resolve MDM, RDM and DQ issues
  • Participating in a cross-functional governance team ensuring governance goals are met
  • Providing consulting and advisory services to application support and project teams
  • Recommending to business users how to enhance collection, integrity & value of their data
  • Assisting with governance and quality assurance of data elements by monitoring systems and reports, proposing system and/or process enhancements and participating in testing
  • Regularly conducting a verification and accuracy process of data to identify problems, and to develop and implement the appropriate changes expeditiously to deal with these issues
  • Evaluate business data to identify their different characteristics, locating similarities as part of finding ways to integrate for better results
  • Carrying out data audits in a bid to uncover realized and unrealized inconspicuous issues
  • Flagging anomalies in data processing and consumption, taking measures to address them
  • Ensuring business terms, measures and KPIs are recorded and communicated
  • Continuously researching, advising & driving changes that demonstrably improves the data
  • Staying informed on how Informatica uses its data and adjusting strategies accordingly
  • Ensuring that IT services meet and often exceed customer expectations
  • Demonstrating accountability and see him or herself as responsible for IT meeting customer expectations

 

Position Requirements And Education

 

  • Industry recognized engineering, computer science or IT Bachelor level degree
  • 3+ years relevant and demonstrable data quality and data governance experience
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, data science or data mining
  • 2+ years of experience, direct or indirect, applying master data principles, processes and systems (e.g. customer master, product master and reference data)
  • 4+ years demonstrable SQL and DDL experience and knowledge
  • 2+ years of experience using data quality tools building complex rule sets

  • Must be well-organized, good at prioritizing as part of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Needs to be able to innovate and think out-of-the-box
  • Requires good time management skills and ability to work to strict timescales
  • Must be action, results oriented and able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must be enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone as well as in a team
  • Needs to be flexible with a tolerance and adaptability to rapid change
  • Requires the ability to work in multi-regional and cross functional teams
