Position Title: Senior Director, Presales

External Description:

The Director, Enterprise PreSales, manages pre-sales technical staff and support activities for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions. Develops detailed customer installation and integration plans. Provides and/or oversees pre-sales technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations. Works with marketing and product managers to define new products. Serves as company liaison on specific technical projects with customers. May provide product feasibility analysis in support of sales efforts with sales representatives. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This is a field pre-sales role that requires travel to customer locations up to, and may exceed, 50% of the time, based on the needs of the business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, explains, and sells the technical aspects of the solution to customers.
  • Promotes the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives while building long-term relationships with customers.
  • Oversees pre-sales technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Partners with marketing and product managers to define new products.
  • Motivate & inspire by exemplifying a set of behaviors and reactions that reflect the values and standards.
  • Influences and inputs into strategic initiatives.
  • Provides support to managers and ensure they follow established processes and procedures to ensure their success.
  • Drive team readiness managing hiring process timely, conducting performance reviews, coaching and developing team technical skills.
  • Speaks in customer/marketing forums to increase brand awareness and propagate Informatica solutions/ platform, as well as gain mindshare and marketshare.
  • Holds self and team accountable for timely documentation, as applicable, within CRM / Marketing software of customer contact and activity data (e.g. names, titles, contact information, opportunity value, product information, sales stages, probability, business pain, firm-future commitments, etc.).
  • Publishes technical articles regarding specific applications.
  • Drives best practices (account management, forecasting, Sales practices,….and influences positive behavior across the organization (communication).
  • Supports the Product team through the product development lifecycle and provide inputs on product features from a business requirements/customer perspective.
  • At this level, leads important projects that require providing experienced project team members with instruction, guidance and advice in all aspects of the project to ensure delivery of quality outcomes.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Uses expert leadership skill in collaboration and prioritization to direct and influence operations and results in the presales region or team(s).
  • Adept at setting and driving strategic initiatives in the functional area, as well as influencing at higher tiers of the organization.
  • Expert-level industry technical knowledge and understanding of a customer's decision-making process, goals, strategies, and business objectives.
  • Adept at C-level audience presentations, financial acumen, negotiation, executive presence, and mentoring/coaching of subordinate managers and presales staff.
  • Independently determines approach to managing team and daily operations.
  • Motivating, positive presence and the ability to lead and compel others to achieve objectives.
  • Creates an environment that promotes the identification and development of talent, as well as planning for future talent needs of the organization.

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent educational background is preferred.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience.
