As an Intern at Informatica, you will be exposed to innovative culture, challenging work and a fast moving, results oriented environment.  As a Software Engineer intern, you will be given real world projects involving the coding and designing of Informatica’s next generation Data Engine platform.

Our team is the Data Engine Team responsible for building a high performance and scalable data processing engine that can scale on multi-processor environments as well on a cluster of nodes. Specifically, our team works on optimizing user provided data integration tasks to create the optimal execution plan (using both rule based and cost based optimization) and then running it either on an Hadoop cluster or Kubernetes cluster. We work with Spark, Kubernetes and other cutting edge open source technologies to ensure we can quickly process Terabytes of data to enable our customers to do fast data analytics.

Your Opportunity: 

We want to give interns the full experience of implementing a feature for an enterprise software product. The summer intern will be assigned a project and be responsible (with the help of their mentor and our team) for driving all stages of that project including:

  • Implementing a product feature end-to-end; work with product delivery teams on defining and validating the requirements; handle scoping, planning, internal and external dependencies for the feature that you own
  • Conduct research into relevant technologies, existing code base and open source/third party libraries to formulate an optimal solution for the feature
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment


  • Graduating between December 2021 and June 2022 with a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Object Oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong programming skills in Java
  • Experience with Eclipse Java IDE a plus
  • Experience with Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure is a plus.
  • Experience with AI/ML a plus
