External Description:

SR. DIRECTOR, GLOBAL EVENTS EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a B2B enterprise marketing rock star, who comes from the SaaS industry to build and lead the global events experience team at Informatica. This team manages our user conference, other marquis Informatica events as well as tradeshows from hyperscaler cloud providers and industry analysts.

You are data-driven and highly analytical, with a relentless focus on customer acquisition, retention, expansion, and referrals. You are a marketing expert with extensive experience in planning and executing full-funnel multichannel campaigns and tactics. You have a passion for the customer experience, conversion optimization, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

You’re excited by the challenge of rolling up your sleeves and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This is a high-impact role where you will partner closely with Portfolio Marketing, Sales, Support and the rest of Marketing to build the global events experience function at Informatica, the Enterprise Cloud Data Management leader.

Responsibilities
• Create a portfolio of global events aligned with the overall business objectives, product roadmap and marketing strategy.
• Develop the strategy and lead the execution of our annual user conference, Informatica World, with a live, virtual and hybrid strategy which draws thousands of attendees across the world.
• Deliver exceptional and unique attendee experiences which drive engagement, attendance, participation, and pipeline!
• Work closely with executives, senior leaders and stakeholders to define messaging, agenda, and speaker strategy.
• Drive all event communications, both internally and externally.
• Research and understand personas for each event type to maximize impact.
• Develop the acquisition strategy in partnership with the Field Marketing and Sales teams to drive high registration.
• Work closely with GTM stakeholders and cross-functional marketing teams to develop repeatable content, tools, systems, processes and guidelines to drive scale and impact.
• Set success criteria, manage key audiences, measure and report out the impact of each major event on awareness, pipeline, opportunity progression, bookings and ROI
• Build a network of platform vendors, logistics agencies, creative development, and production companies to deliver legendary events.
• Maintain a multimillion-dollar budget and work with Finance to closely track monthly, quarterly and yearly spend against targets.

Requirements/Qualifications

• 12+ years of managing an events team and delivering successful large-scale event experiences, virtual/hybrid event experience required
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Lead and influence w/ executives and cross-functional teams
• Data-driven mindset focused on setting and measuring KPIs and pipeline metrics using tools like Salesforce, Tableau and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent budget and financial management skills
• Strong understanding and practice of event strategy and content development
• Exemplary project management skills for world class event execution
• Knowledge and experience with online event platforms such as RainFocus (for digital, live-streamed and in-person events)
• Experience working in both digital and in-person event environments, with in-depth knowledge in managing internal and external production teams
• Demonstrated ability to create net new event types, based on business need
• Positive and motivated self-starter
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, with the ability to drive clarity for the team
