Our team is the Data Engine Team responsible for building a high performance and scalable data processing engine that can scale on multi-processor environments as well on a cluster of nodes (Kubernetes, Hadoop). Specifically, our team works on optimizing user provided data integration tasks to create the optimal execution plan (using both rule based and cost based optimization) and then running it on a cluster. We are responsible for managing the cluster lifecycle including start , terminate and scale (compute and storage) We work with Spark, kubernetes, docker and other cutting edge open source technologies to ensure we can quickly process Terabytes of data to enable our customers to do fast data analytics.

Informatica’s internships last 10-12 weeks during the summer months. We are currently hiring for the May/June 2022 timeframe and the team is based out of Redwood City, CA office

Intern Responsibilities:

We want to give interns the full experience of developing a feature for an enterprise software product. The summer intern will be assigned a project and be responsible (with the help of their mentor and our team) for driving all stages of that project including:

  • Requirement Gathering
  • Functional Specification
  • Design Specification
  • Implementation
  • Unit Testing
  • Code Review
  • Helping and Reviewing QA and Performance test plans

Your Qualifications:

  • Object Oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong Java Programming Skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Docker a plus
  • Scala programming skills a plus
  • Database and SQL Knowledge
