Finance Manager – R&D

The Finance Manager will serve as a business partner to the Product and Cloud organization, and will report to the Senior Director of FP&A.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Establish strong business partner relationships with R&D, Product Management, and Cloud Operations leadership team
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget with a good understanding of each group’s requirements; provide value-added insights and recommendations for achieving financial goals
  • Structure department and account hierarchies to meet the appropriate reporting needs of the business and corporate finance
  • Effectively manage and track the headcount needs of the R&D organization
  • Monthly Forecast & Variance Analysis:
    • Perform actual vs. budget review of departmental expenses with managers, providing proactive commentary regarding discrepancies
    • Prepare monthly forecast of operating expenses including foresight regarding business objectives
  • Work collaboratively with the R&D business and other cross-functional teams
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
  • Maintain relationships with colleagues on the finance team to ensure quality deliverables and proper information flow

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
  • Detail oriented with ability to develop clear, concise executive level reports and summaries
  • 5+ years of relevant finance work experience in a FP&A role supporting mid-to-large sized organization
  • Experience in the software industry preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with high level management and multiple cross-functional groups
  • Ability to multi-task and manage dynamic workload of changing priorities
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, pro-actively and effectively under pressure
  • Excellent Excel skills with ability to provide analytics on large data sets
  • Experience with financial and reporting systems – Oracle Fusion, EPBCS (Hyperion) – is preferred
