Senior DevOps Engineer, Cloud Product Operations

External Description:

Informatica is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with experience in production environment.

You will work on the Cloud Product Operations team, and will manage the monitoring, and operation of our services in production. We use the latest Cloud hosting, monitoring, and deployment technologies to deliver a world class, non-disruptive Cloud user experience to our customers.

You will report to our Senior Manager, Cloud Product Operations

Technology You'll Use

Technology You'll Use not limited to the following:

  • Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud log services (ELK), cloud application monitoring tools (Elastic APM, Panopta, Prometheus)
  • Jenkins and Spinnaker CI/CD tools
  • Git version control systems
  • Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Helm, Istio, Kiali, and Service Mesh
  • Telemetry tools which include Prometheus, ELK

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

As Senior Engineer in cloud platform operations team, you will be responsible for the overall observability of the system, have monitoring skills, and experience with automation and innovation.

In this individual contributor role, You will need,

  • A background in DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, systems administration, or software development/qa
  • configure and maintain monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
  • knowledge of logging systems like ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana
  • Previous experience building custom dashboards from multiple data sources
  • Excellent monitoring, debugging.
  • Plan, design, and deploy available solutions on public cloud
  • Support the Agile software development process among teams to ensure smooth product delivery
  • On-call support in cases of issues on production environment
  • Be a primary person to handle P0/P1 incidents reported in production environments
  • Perform incident/alert troubleshooting, problem analysis and provide high quality solutions to technical issues
  • Involve in RCA process for production incidents and taking preventive steps working with all the required teams in dev, qa and operations
  • Manage RCA, Incident Process, and Risk Analysis of the cloud services
  • Take ownership and resolve the issues related to production environment within expected by Service level agreement time frames
  • Work with development teams across multiple organizations to drive automation, establish software standards, service modularity, testing standards, and deployment/management of microservices.
  • Focus on automating build, release/deployment, manual processes, and workflows
  • Improve our tools, infrastructure, and processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality software to our production service
  • Support deployment activities of development releases including troubleshooting of release blockers such as infrastructure, configuration, and code
  • Assist development in troubleshooting system and software issues in all environments
  • work with the development team and provide insights into issues.
  • Provide proactive support on important issues, including liaison with users, system users.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest and greatest tools that will best serve the business

Role Essentials

5+ years of relevant experience in software testing, project management, site reliability engineering, systems administration, or software development

  • Experience in project management from scoping to delivery working with the members from within the teams
  • Experience managing projects spanning across multiple teams involving cross team collaboration for brainstorming the ideas, dependency and risk analysis, come up with mitigation plans, and tracking the tasks to closure
  • Experience driving multiple projects working with different teams like dev, qa, pm, operations, infrastructure, and security
  • Experience in onboarding new products and services to cloud with compliance requirements like soc-2, FedRamp, and GDPRT
  • Take an initiative to cloud deployment design and implementation working with team members
  • Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud
  • experience with tools used for automated deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers such as Kubernetes
  • Experience in development or QA or operations to automate the repeated tasks (ex. A build or test framework or building deployment pipelines)
  • Experience across entire SDLC, CI/CD tools, with configuration & release management, deployments, and troubleshooting in cloud environments
  • Explore new technologies and participate in POC
  • Good programming concepts/knowledge around Java-based applications for debugging
  • Experience with source code version control systems like GitHub and code branching/merging strategies
  • Scripting experience in Java, shell, Bash, PowerShell, or Python
  • Expertise with build package and release tools such as Maven, JVM, Ant and Gradle
  • Expertise with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, Harness
  • Experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sumo Logic, ELK, Opsgenie
  • Experience deploying Docker images in the Cloud delivered through AWS EKS
  • Network automation such as switch configurations, routing, & load balancers
  • Proficiency with Cloud technologies such as AWS Cloud (EC2, EC2 Container Service, Kubernetes), Azure, GCP
  • Excellent cloud experience including multi-tenancy, secured application, high availability, Micro Services, telemetry
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience with undergrad degree or professional training
  • BA/BS or equivalent educational background
