Senior Director, Marketing Communications and Brand

Informatica is looking for a Senior Director, Marketing Communications and Brand to heighten our brand strength, increase awareness and positive sentiment to attract, engage and influence key audiences, to join our team in Redwood City, California.

As the Senior Director, Marketing Communications and Brand, you will be responsible for overseeing our brand positioning, architecture, and messaging to ensure our brand ethos is cohesive, provocative, and memorable. We are looking for an ambitious and creative marketer with proven experience in leading and delivering industry-shaping work across B2B to both business-facing and technical audiences, bringing to life creative expressions that are cohesive, provocative and infused across all programs/campaigns across channels and regions.

Reporting to the CMO, the Senior Director, Marketing Communications and Brand, will drive development and ongoing refinement of our corporate narrative with deep understanding of our target personas, to enable breakthrough messaging and positioning at the brand-level and for our cloud data management solutions. The Senior Director, Marketing Communications and Brand role is equal parts creative and analytically driven, commands a holistic understanding of how individual touchpoints affect our story and perception in the world, and builds an engaging emotional connection to build and strengthen an iconic brand. This role is a vital conduit within not only Marketing but with other departments across the organization to support development of assets from concept to production. This leader will manage a team comprised of graphic designers, multi-media producer, traffic manager and contractors to ensure customer or internal facing assets are captivating, engaging and consistent with our over-arching brand message, look and feel.

 

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

  • Overall management and stewardship of our brand-building strategy that heightens perception of our cloud leadership. Influence and drive programs that amplify brand awareness, help drive demand gen, and strengthen connection among key audiences - prospects, customers, analysts, investors, communities, employees, and candidates.
  • Manage brand and social media teams, developing brand communications plans with next-level storytelling across paid media, earned and owned channels.
  • Oversee brand tracking studies, message testing, and advertising performance tracking to stay informed of industry trends, best practices and leading-edge of technology innovations.
  • Monitor competitive share-of-voice, ad media spend, messaging, sentiment, and advertising creative. Stay ahead of competitive trends and identify opportunities to refine our positioning, voice and look-and-feel.
  • Set business performance goals to measure brand strength including perception, unaided awareness, associations and brand-lift to website traffic and lead volume.
  • Work closely with agencies and the internal creative team to tap into persona/buyer insights to develop breakthrough brand activations that captivate and excite.
  • Act as the voice, tone, and moderator of the brand through community support, content distribution, and digital engagement to build brand presence.
  • Manage consistent and compelling brand identity, architecture, and messaging across all touchpoints and channels.
  • Oversee execution of brand-level assets, media programs, sponsorships and manage naming projects and brand trademarks.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers and producers to develop materials from concept to completion in an array of mediums and ensuring cohesion across advertising social, digital, events
  • Maintain/update style and asset guides and ensure materials are leveraged and "campaign-able" and leveraged across regions and multiple mediums.
  • Support brand campaign asset migration to new visual system and ensure global consistency & governance.
  • Manage and upgrade digital asset management library for all production files and photography.
  • Oversee operations of InfaShop, our corporate brand merchandising program.

Role Essentials

  • Minimum 15 years' experience as brand strategist with extensive expertise building and refining brand positioning and messaging, asset production, content marketing, campaigns and integrated marketing. Agency experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA in Marketing, Business, or degree in related field a plus.
  • Previous experience in B2B, large enterprise software/cloud/SaaS industry.
  • Broad experience across all facets of brand activation including brand identity, creative/compelling look, messaging development, campaign design and media strategy.
  • Significant experience managing with a brand agency, consultancies working with high-tech B2B companies.
  • Hands-on experience conducting research and competitive analysis to deliver creative, customer and market-based recommendations to strengthen brand strategy and media plans.
  • Methodical, metrics-driven approach to continuous improvement; strong analytical skills with the ability to identify insights that are put into action.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate findings to executives; comfortable building effective business reviews that story tell with data.
  • Experience building social communities through paid and organic properties to foster connection and engagement among business and technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of being a goal-oriented business partner along with being an innovative and creative visionary force for the company.
  • Strong management skills, adept at setting expectations for direct reports, evaluating performance, and guiding employees' career growth.
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility, and empower colleagues across the organization
  • Expertise with Agile methodologies and project management tools like Workfront, Asana, Slack or JIRA.
  • Highly organized and phenomenal attention to detail with demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills.
