Senior Accessibility Specialist – Bangalore

We are seeking a Senior Accessibility Specialist who is passionate about advocating for and integrating accessibility standards across our product line

In this role, you will leverage your strong knowledge of accessibility guidelines, coupled with your expertise in UI design, to significantly enhance the visual and functional aspects of our products.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive accessibility assessments on web products to ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate accessibility features during the software development lifecycle.
• Guarantee the accessibility of shared components to enhance user experience across various platforms.
• Improve and maintain internal documentation related to accessibility standards and best practices.
• Create and update VPATs for products to document their adherence to accessibility standards.
• Proactively identify accessibility issues within software products and propose effective solutions to the engineering teams to rectify these discrepancies.

What We'd Like to See

• Demonstrated experience in creating detailed accessibility audit reports for digital products, assessing compliance with established guidelines.
• Proven track record in developing innovative and effective solutions specifically designed to address and resolve web accessibility issues.
• In-depth knowledge of the WCAG 2.2 Guidelines, including a thorough understanding of its success criteria and practical interpretations in various contexts.
• Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to identifying, documenting, and communicating accessibility issues within design elements"

Role Essentials

• 4+ years of experience in conducting rigorous testing of web content for accessibility compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in HTML and CSS, with the ability to understand and manipulate web elements for improved accessibility.
• Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of accessibility checkpoints, along with the implementation of effective remediation strategies.
• While not required, experience with assistive technologies like VoiceOver, NVDA screen reader, ZoomText or JAWS.
