Director of AI/ML Development

We're looking for a Director of AI/ML candidate with experience in AI/ML to join our team in Redwood City, CA (Hybrid).

You will report to the Senior Director of AI/ML Development

You will be leading/owning the Gen AI application, ML models and the microservices that will power the Gen AI platform that powers both the CLAIRE GPT and CLAIRE CoPilot use cases

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

• Design and implement machine learning models that deliver Gen AI use cases in data management.
• Deliver application and backend services that power the Gen AI innovation to create rich expressive generative products at Informatica.
• Pretrain and fine tune open source models to deliver Informatica based LLMs that are trained using Informatica enterprise datasets.
• Work with other R&D teams to drive AI adoption across the company
• Inspire diverse teams with diverse skills to deliver innovation with high sense of urgency.
• Communicate with the industry and communities where applicable and be an ambassador for Informatica.
• Partner with product management and UX teams to define and deliver pragmatic innovation in a timely manner.

What We'd Like to See

• Experience working with teams to deliver data-oriented products.
• Experience leading Global projects with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Built data processing pipelines needed to train and evaluate ML models.
• Experience working directly with the ML Infrastructure and Platform teams to identify opportunities to further improve and optimize the tools and solutions
• Ability to successfully drive cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution.
• Ability to inspire and motivate engineering teams to work together as a cohesive and productive unit.
• In-depth knowledge of deep learning architectures, especially those tailored for generative tasks, and experience with training and fine-tuning such models using frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc

Role Essentials

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with AI/ML in delivering ML models in production at scale.
• Experience leading web application development, full stack engineering across distributed teams.
• Experience in SaaS software development at scale
• Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience
• Routinely a manager of managers
